We are so pleased that you are considering adopting a rescued cat or kitten, and we feel you’ve come to the right place! We have cats and kittens of all ages. All have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and have been tested for FeLV and FIV.
We’re fortunate that our kitties adopt quickly so please complete an application to start the adoption process.
Here are a few things you should know:
- When you complete an application for 9 Lives Rescue, you are applying to adopt from us, not for a particular cat. Once approved, when you find a match that’s good for both you and the kitty, you can take it home! Your application will be good for six months and covers all adoptable cats.
- 9 Lives Rescue is committed to placing our animals in the best homes possible. Click here to read our Adoption Policies.
- Click here for adoption fees. Please note that adoption fees do not cover our costs for each cat.
- Young Kittens (under 5 months): We’re pretty particular with our baby cats and the right fit is most important to us. We believe socialization with other cats is critical until four months of age, so anyone adopting two kittens will be given priority and anyone adopting a kitten into a home with other age-appropriate cats will be given second priority. These kittens can go home at 10-12 weeks of age. Kittens going to one cat homes are carefully considered; only those kittens that show signs of being OK as a solo kitten will be available and we may ask you to wait until 16 weeks.

While we make an effort to understand the full history of all animals associated with our rescue, 9 Lives has not personally met or evaluated the cats marked as courtesy listings and makes no guarantees as to their current health or temperament.
Barn Cats / Mouse Patrol
Are you looking for a kitty who prefers the outdoor life and would love to chase mice in your barn or workshop? These kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped. They will gladly accept your food, but not your pets and scratches, but in time may become friendlier as they get used to their new surroundings. These cats typically go to their outdoor homes in pairs and need to be confined in an outbuilding for approximately 4 weeks so that they are acclimated to their new surroundings and do not take off. We can also supply a dog crate for this acclimation period. If you are interested in our working cats, please fill out the barn cat application below and we can match you up with new feline employees!
